OUR RARE GEMS
Rare Gem Mi-Ki's LTD commits to the highest standards of breeding and education of the precious Mi-Ki breed. We hope our puppies live and give an enhanced life experience. We donate a portion of our proceeds to animal rescue & other charitable causes.
RGM works very hard and takes great pride in our top notch-breeding program. Dams and Sires are chosen for health, conformation and disposition. Their loving and adoring personalities develop here at the Heart and Soul Homestead.
Our breeders in the Rare Gem program are tested and certified proven to have passed as: Normal and breeding worthy for OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) patellas, hearts & eyes. Our dogs are currently enrolled in the CHIC program (the OFA Canine Health Information Center), providing a source of health information for owners, breeders, and scientists that will assist in breeding healthy dogs.
We perform blood panels, Serum bile tests, DNA certification/parentage verification , DNA genetic color panels, and DNA genetic screenings through Embark . Our breeding program have been tested for bile acid levels.
We follow the guidelines of the Coefficiency of Inbreeding percentages diligently, maintaining the best possible pairings for genetic diversity & outcrossing while preserving health, type & conformation. In our breeding program, we do not practice inbreeding for the Mi-Ki. Our dedication is in hopes to help strengthen the future of the Mi-Ki breed.
